Does anyone know the current market price of methanol? How many tons of coal are needed to produce one ton of methanol from coal?
Due to transportation issues, methanol prices vary across the country, ranging roughly between 1850 and 2300. The amount of coal required per ton of methanol depends on factors such as the quality of the coal, the gasification process, and the operating load; it is generally set at 2.5 tons
More or less. If electricity is counted separately, 1 ton of methanol requires about 1.5 tons of coal.
