Both are intrinsically safe cables, but what is the difference between the ordinary cable ia-ZR-KVVP 2X1.5 and the computer communication cable ia-ZR-DJY(P)VP 1X2X.5?
KVVP 2X1.5 is a control cable with copper cores, PVC insulation, copper wire braiding for shielding, and PVC sheathing; it can be used for DI and DO digital signals or as a power cable (with a power capacity that isn’t too high). It belongs to the category of main panel cables. DJY(P)VP 1X2X.5 is a computer cable – this type is generally chosen for DCS systems. It is a cable used for connecting main panels to sub-panels, and the specific cable model varies depending on the manufacturer. If “ia” is added in front, it indicates that it is an intrinsically safe cable.

The latter type of cable is expensive; computer cables offer better shielding than KVVP and RVVP cables, and higher requirements are placed on them. For general control signals, KVVP or RVVP is sufficient
