The design of such orifice plates is based on the principle that the center of the orifice should be located at the center of the pipeline; but how can this be achieved in practice? If the connection surface is an RJ surface, this can be achieved through the positioning function of the gasket. What about if the connection surface is an RF surface? Its position can be determined by enlarging the outer diameter of the flow-limiting orifice plate so that bolts can pass through it. Are there any other methods?
Why isn’t anyone responding? I think this is a good question; why isn’t anyone discussing it?
The requirements shouldn’t be that strict; the center of the hole doesn’t necessarily have to be exactly at the center of the pipe.
To ensure that the center of the orifice plate is located at the center of the pipeline, if the connection surface is of RJ type, this can be achieved through the positioning function of the gasket. If the connection surface is of RF type, then the outer diameter of the orifice plate can be manufactured to match the outer diameter of the male fitting, thereby enabling precise positioning; the accuracy achieved will meet all technical requirements.
Current flow-limiting orifice plates all come with matching flanges; these can be welded together and then connected using bolts. The gap between the flange inner diameter and the pipeline is 1 mm, a deviation that can be practically ignored; therefore, it can be considered to be at the center.
The requirements for the flow control orifice plate aren’t that high, right? Just use a gasket on each side and tighten it; a slight deviation from the center of the pipe hardly has any impact. This doesn’t contradict the purpose of installing the flow control orifice plate, haha
