In my humble opinion, the staff at design institutes don’t use simulation software such as ASPEN PLUS very often; perhaps it’s because our institute is smaller. :) Is it necessary to learn *? In what situations is it mainly used? Feel free to discuss; I’ll do the scoring. :victory:
I heard from our teacher before that design institutes use PRO II and HYSYS at multiple points
I won’t do it; I’m still learning Aspen. I heard there are many ProII versions! ! !
When working in a design institute, calculation software is essential. Such as ASPEN PLUS or PRO, or HYSYS, HTRI or HTFS, FLUENT, pipeline stress calculation software, ANSYS, and so on. Without calculation software, there will be no truly proprietary process package. Having its own process package is the foundation for a design institute. It is sufficient to master one of ASPEN, HYSYS, and PRO. Different interfaces require different operations. There are slight differences in functionality, but the principle is the same. If used proficiently, it is possible to flexibly choose calculation methods to compensate for the shortcomings of this software.
Design software definitely needs to be learned*. Personally, I think AspenPlus and HYSYS are sufficient; one has comprehensive property data, while the other offers a user-friendly interface that makes it convenient for conducting dynamic comparisons. However, both A+ and HYSYS are only used for the overall planning of the process; to design specific unit equipment, other more specialized software is required, such as software for designing pumps~
These days, HYSYS and Aspen are widely used, while Pro is being used less and less. If you can master HYSYS and Aspen, I believe you won’t have any trouble establishing yourself in a design firm.
A lot is used with ASPEN. Our institute uses ASPEN. This software is very necessary for process calculations.
