I have newly installed a 250KW screw pump, but it often fails to reach full pressure and operate normally after starting. I would like to know what the reason is The starter I have chosen now is also 250KW. I asked the pump manufacturer, who said that my chosen starter is too small; the power of the starter should be one level higher than that of the screw pump. I would like to ask if this is based on any evidence? How to improve?
Under normal circumstances, using a 250KW soft starter will not have much of an impact; the key is whether the load is light during startup. If switching is not possible at startup, the soft starter will indicate the reason; you should check based on that reason. If it shows that everything is normal, then verify whether there are any issues with the control circuit, the bypass relay, or if there are any poor connections in the other control wires.
What is a launcher? There are lots of starters. Generally speaking, manufacturers claim to use such a method, but it also depends on the circumstances and operating conditions. Firstly, the manufacturer communicated too late, or rather, they weren’t proactive. Electric motors, especially large ones, have many specific power distribution requirements that should all be provided to the design team to prevent similar issues from occurring. I was careless when selecting the initiator! ~! For example, devices such as soft starters and frequency converters all have specific loads that match them, or it is specified that a stage of amplification is required! ~!
Check whether the starter has switched, and if there are any issues with the installation of the screw pump.
The relay has not engaged; the soft start indicates excessive voltage or a timeout during startup. The manufacturer has come, but the problem hasn’t been solved yet.
When I ordered the frequency converter for the screw pump, I consulted the manufacturer, and their response was that it’s best to choose a model that is one grade higher than the pump.
