What is the particle size range of fine silicon powder carried away by the fluidized bed in the synthesis of trichlorosilane?
It depends on the parameters of your synthesis furnace; it’s determined by the expanded upper section of the furnace and the designed gas velocity. These values should be provided during the design phase, so that the subsequent design work can proceed smoothly
This is primarily determined by the flow rate of the hydrogen chloride gas fed in and the amount of trichlorosilane produced; a higher production volume results in more silicon powder being carried away, with larger particles. In addition, the height of the equipment and its ability to separate larger particles are also important factors. A well-designed equipment setup leads to less silicon powder being carried away, thereby increasing the yield of silicon powder
What is the particle size of the silicon powder used in the reaction time? What are the requirements?
Silicon powder in the range of 30 mesh to 150 mesh is the best
Silicon powder with a particle size of around 80 mesh is commonly used here
It also depends on the diameter and height of the equipment, as well as the separation capacity of the expansion section, to determine how much silicon powder can be obtained
Based on my three years of experience, the particle size should be around 200 mesh or higher
What can be seen on the upper floor is the particle size of the silicon powder remaining in the filter
Probably above 200 mesh; the larger silicon particles react or settle in the expansion section.
