A reactor needs to be selected: it contains the materials zinc chloride and hydrochloric acid, the reaction temperature is 800 degrees, and the operation is at atmospheric pressure. What type of metal should be used for this reactor?
Carbon steel inch bricks or Inconel inch bricks – haven’t been in use for long; personal opinion
HA3 or tantalum could be considered, but the price is high

Monel 400, titanium, and other nickel-based alloys have good resistance to dilute hydrochloric acid. However, with the container temperature at 800 degrees, it’s hard to say for sure – if the temperature were lower, lining the container with rubber might be possible
Use graphite or titanium; graphite is the best choice

800-degree dilute hydrochloric acid is likely to be too harsh for any metal other than titanium; it is recommended to use the non-metallic material of graphite.
Titanium is not a panacea for corrosion in chemical reactors
Enameling is definitely no problem, as we use aqua regia; however, I am also looking for a substitute for enameling, since there are very few manufacturers of high-quality enamel reactors.
Nickel-based alloys, resistant to high temperatures and corrosion, but very expensive
