The man immediately jumped out from under the eaves and stood in the rain: Now I’m also in the rain; is it my turn now? Avalokiteshvara said: You are in the rain, and so am I. I’m not wet because I have an umbrella ； You got wet from the rain because you didn’t have an umbrella; it’s not me who is protecting myself, but the umbrella that is protecting me. If you want to cross, don’t come to me; find an umbrella by yourself! After saying that, he left. The next day, when this person encountered difficulties, he went to the temple to pray to Guanyin. Upon entering the temple, I realized that there was someone praying in front of the statue of Guanyin as well; that person looked exactly like Guanyin, down to the smallest detail. Someone asked: Are you Guanyin? The man replied, \"I am indeed Guanyin.\" The man asked again: Then why do you still worship yourself?
