I want to simulate an intermediate storage tank that has two streams of material in and three streams of material out at the same time. I thought of using a mixer and a splitter in series. But I always feel pretty stupid. I wonder if you have any clever tips?
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it, and the storage tank won’t have much impact on your model, so don’t worry too much about it.
It depends on whether you have any phase separation requirements~ HYSYS and AspenPlus have three-phase separators. There is no limit on the number of inlets. There should be three outlets, vapor/light liquid/heavy liquid. If there are no phase separation requirements, just use Tank and Splitter in series. Generally speaking, the middle tank is mainly used for buffering. As long as the liquid does not fill the tank during dynamic conditions, it will be fine.~
