The function of the water-washing foam tower is to absorb substances weakly; it uses water washing to remove hydrogen chloride, a substance with high solubility in water, thereby purifying the hydrogen chloride gas and cooling the vinyl chloride gas. A large amount of water is required for washing; the solubility of vinyl chloride in water increases, leading to significant losses, environmental pollution, and an increase in system resistance. The amount of water used for washing is low, resulting in incomplete purification, which affects processes such as alkali washing and distillation.
Today, the process of producing acid by washing vinyl chloride gas after conversion is well-developed and widely used. The process involves a two-stage sieve tray tower, a one-stage packed bed wash tower, and finally an alkali wash tower. There are no more issues related to water volume or alkali consumption; zero wastewater discharge is possible, and at the same time 31% hydrochloric acid can be produced. How is it that you still have wastewater to discharge? Isn’t hydrogen chloride recovered from the acid production process?
