That’s right; filters have been installed on both the side stream and reflux lines of our vacuum distillation tower. Our feed materials are filtered before being fed into the system. Hydrocracking and hydroisomerization are carried out using three-stage or four-stage refined oil along with hydrocracking tail oil. Why is filtering necessary not only at the feed stage but also within the vacuum distillation tower?
It’s possible that your material has heat-sensitive issues; although the feed material is filtered, heat-sensitive side reactions, coking reactions, oligomerization reactions, and other such reactions may occur during the distillation process, resulting in impurities forming inside the tower. These impurities are then removed through filtration.
