In the hydrogen chloride synthesis unit designed for our company by the design institute, the enclosure of the synthesis furnace does not have insulation; however, this furnace is used to produce hot water at around 95°C, which is then used in the lithium bromide chiller system. Please discuss whether the design is reasonable # hcbbs
Add insulation on your own; in theory, as long as it’s higher than the ambient temperature, insulation is needed.
It needs to be insulated; this type of furnace is different from other synthesis furnaces, as losing heat will result in a significant loss of energy.
1. For furnaces that generate hot water as a by-product, if the heat generated is not utilized, insulation may not be necessary; cooling through radiation can be used to reduce the load on the circulating water system. However, it is likely that such systems will not pass the inspection due to heat pollution; 2. If the heat source is used in lithium bromide units, insulation is necessary; otherwise, energy will be wasted needlessly. Hot water at 90 degrees will lose heat through natural radiation, resulting in insufficient temperature, which in turn reduces the concentration efficiency of lithium bromide as well as its cooling performance ;

Calculations should still be carried out based on the insulation requirements; it is necessary to determine whether such hot water needs to be insulated. Although the amount of heat lost without insulation is limited, it can still be painful if the water is too hot. We don’t utilize it, nor do we insulate it. The outlet water temperature is not high.
