The manufacturer says that the sulfur particles are too small. Does anyone have any good suggestions? Could warming the foam holding tank slightly help?

The manufacturer is lying to you; it must be that the equipment or manufacturing process is inadequate – there’s no way something as weak as thin soup could be produced! You are often in that area; I can provide manufacturers of internal fractional sulfur melting reactors, which offer quite good separation results

This post was last edited by adsl121 on 2009-9-22 08:56. It’s not that serious; I have seen that kind of thin liquid you mentioned before. But there’s no need to worry – it’s likely that the filtering method used isn’t suitable for separating sulfur compounds in your case. I recommend using forced filtration, such as plate and frame filtration or vacuum filtration. Of course, it’s important to ensure an adequate filtration pressure difference and to use appropriate filter media (with a mesh size of 50 mesh; trials are needed). Personally, I think you should try 100 or 150 mesh; a thin soup should suffice to solve the problem. Of course, on-site management must be excellent!
Our factory uses centrifuges, and the results are quite good.
If a sulfur foam sump is used along with slight heating, the sump must also be equipped with a clear liquid overflow pipe. Our company uses this process, and the results are excellent!

The sulfur melting furnace is considered a pressure vessel, and it needs to be inspected once a year by the local technical supervision agency; as long as all the necessary procedures are followed, the inspection goes smoothly
In your case, there is a problem with the system; however, no filter of any kind will cause the issue you’re experiencing. If there is little sulfur paste, a high-level tank is not necessary; if there is a lot of sulfur paste, it is best to use a high-level tank for heating and clarification.
