Dear teachers, I have a few questions for you: For the pipes used to transport hydrogen chloride, we have chosen carbon steel pipes, and considering the water content, there should be no problem; These pipes don’t need to be cleaned at the moment. My questions are: 1. Will not cleaning the pipes have an impact only during the initial startup phase, or will things return to normal after that? How long does it take for that to happen? 2. The resulting FeCl3 is something that disappears with just a puff of air, or does it, like some other inert membranes, prevent the reaction from continuing? 3. Currently, carbon steel pipes in China are generally not treated to prevent rusting. Even if they are cleaned (usually just cleaned), the effect is limited; in other words, rust forms again before the system starts operating
Personally, I don’t think using steel pipes is very safe, after all, they are highly corrosive
The use of carbon steel pipes is surely a surprise to many people. Personally, I think we should consider maintenance issues, accidental leaks, and the possibility of moisture from the air getting in. I agree with the person above – carbon steel pipes are not reliable.
