Our new company project requires supporting utility systems, which include the production of water at various low temperatures (multiple refrigeration units), at levels such as -5°C, -15°C, -25°C, and -35°C. Refrigeration technology is now quite advanced; I have some questions for those experienced in this field: 1. Should we choose ammonia-based refrigeration units or fluorine-based ones? 2. Should a screw refrigeration unit or a centrifugal refrigeration unit be chosen? 3. Should it be designed for single-stage compression or multi-stage compression? Please provide technical guidance regarding aspects such as the sophistication of the device and its cost-effectiveness.
Regarding the operating conditions mentioned by the original poster, considering the purchase cost as well as subsequent operating and maintenance expenses, I think a chiller equipped with a semi-hermetic twin-screw compressor would be a better choice.
