According to experienced workers, in diaphragm production, the relationship between salt content and alkali content in the weak alkaline solution is such that the sum of alkali and salt amounts to a relatively constant value; it’s not clear whether there is any theoretical basis for this. Personally, I think the amount of sodium ions should be in balance, but can such a conclusion be derived theoretically from the changes in concentration and specific gravity in between? Puzzling........ # hcbbs
Is it perhaps related to the solubility of sodium ions? It’s confusing… It seems I need to find data on the saturated sodium chloride content in caustic soda solutions. Can anyone provide it?
