A gas extraction process was used, involving pumping air from the outlet of the medium-to-low temperature stage and sending it to the low-temperature conversion outlet; this method had many drawbacks. These included effects on the inlet temperature and peak temperature of the catalyst used for low-temperature conversion, as well as impacts on the service life of the extraction control valves due to differences in temperature and pressure.
