Our Shell gasifier currently meets 70% of the requirements, but the following problems occur during operation: 1. The carbon content in the slag remains quite high, sometimes reaching around 60%. In such cases, we increase the oxygen-to-carbon ratio. Before increasing this ratio, no oxygen was detected in the composition of the gas; after increasing it, oxygen could be detected in the gas composition. Yet even under these conditions, the carbon content in the slag remains around 50%. One of our burners does not operate very stably, while the other three burners function adequately. Just yesterday, the carbon dioxide level in the gas in our system suddenly rose to around 4.34%. Before this anomaly occurred, the carbon dioxide level in the gas in our system was between 1% and 2%. We would appreciate any advice from those with more experience. Our own analysis suggests that it’s possible a burner has been damaged! !
It is very likely that there is a leak in the burner; the evaporation of water requires heat, and the vaporization reaction does not occur completely, which leads to an increase in residual carbon in the slag. It is also possible that the particle size of the coal powder is a bit large

I wonder what level of operating pressure you maintain? It is best for you to keep the operating pressure at the design pressure and increase the reaction residence time. 3. Increasing the oxygen-to-carbon ratio will definitely lead to an increase in CO2, so there’s nothing surprising about that.
The burner is misdirecting the spray. Respiratory capacity decreases. .
Don’t understand? The carbon content in the slag has reached 60% – isn’t that the same as coal that hasn’t been burned and is fed into the furnace?
