What is the function of the dry gas seal system in a compressor? What kind of gas does dry gas refer to?
Double-end mechanical seals are generally used for the sealing of compressors. As compressors become larger, double mechanical seals are no longer sufficient; more and more units employ dry gas seals. The principle behind these seals is that gas is introduced at the shaft end, and when the shaft rotates at high speed, a gap of a few micrometers forms between the shaft and its housing, allowing the shaft to operate as if it were on a gas cushion. Generally, nitrogen is used for dry gas, but the medium being compressed can also be used.
The dry gas seal system of the compressor serves three functions: 1, to provide a clean, dry, and stable continuous gas supply for the dry gas seal. 2. Adjust the seal gas pressure. 3. Monitor the sealing operation status and issue alarms. By \"dry gas\" is meant that the sealing gas must be dry and clean.
