What causes a self-priming pump to fail to build pressure while also experiencing current overload? The medium being transported is waste alkaline solution! Thank you!
Have you checked where the pump has a poor seal? I guess there are still some places missing.
It is mainly caused by the gas-liquid entrainment of the liquid inside the pump during transportation. First, check the installation height of the pump; second, verify whether there are any leaks in the mechanical seal, etc.; third, check if the temperature inside the pump becomes too high, leading to vaporization of the liquid; fourth, make sure that the pump is filled with liquid when it is started, and keep the outlet valve open to a very small degree in order to allow the gas inside the pump to be slowly expelled, thus ensuring stable operation of the pump.

Do you mean that the self-priming pump you are referring to is a centrifugal pump? If so, is there an exhaust operation before starting the pump? Is the outlet valve of the pump not closed properly? This can easily lead to current overload
Is there a problem with the water outlet valve, or is it an issue with the pump seal?
The head is too high. Is there anything wrong with the pressure gauge? The current overload is probably due to a problem with the head pressure!
It happens frequently; it seems necessary to check the issues with the pump itself. Occasionally, it’s better to first examine the factors related to the processing process – whether there are solid impurities in the waste alkali that could be causing blockages somewhere
Check whether there are any crystals inside the alkaline solution that could cause blockages in the pipelines or elsewhere.
Possible causes: 1) Air leakage from the front cover, or a leak in the pipeline from the liquid level to the front inlet (some models of self-priming pumps are equipped with an exhaust solenoid valve that often leaks), resulting in no flow and overheating. 2) The material contains particles and has a high solid content, causing the inlet to get blocked. 3) When using a self-priming pump for the first time, it needs to be primed, and the priming liquid level has not reached the proper level.
Please check whether the motor rotation direction is correct, whether the pump inlet pipeline is unobstructed, and whether the pump impeller clearance is proper.
