The kiln lining of a rotary kiln is formed when clinker or dust transforms from a liquid or semi-liquid state to a solid state. Its main functions are as follows: 1. To protect the refractory bricks, preventing them from being directly exposed to high temperatures and chemical erosion. 2. Store thermal energy, reduce the heat loss from the rotary kiln’s shell to the surrounding environment, and improve the kiln’s thermal efficiency. 3. Act as a heat transfer medium: when the kiln lining is exposed to air and comes into contact with hot air, it absorbs heat through radiation or convection; when the kiln lining is in contact with the material at the bottom of the kiln, it transfers heat to the raw material through conduction. 4.
