True color refers to the color of water after suspended solids have been removed; the color of water before such removal is known as apparent color. The colority of water generally refers to the true color, and the color of water is determined using the following methods: 1. Platinum-cobalt standard colorimetry (commonly used for natural water and drinking water, measured in degrees); 2. Dilution factor method (commonly used for industrial wastewater, measured in times). Pure water is colorless and transparent, while natural water contains soil, organic matter, inorganic minerals, plankton, etc., and often has a certain color. Industrial wastewater contains dyes, biological pigments, colored suspended solids, etc., and is the main source of coloring in environmental water bodies.
