In recent years, **environmental protection measures have been strictly enforced, with strict requirements regarding sulfur dioxide emissions. I wonder if any oil refineries have implemented projects for flue gas desulfurization; what technologies are being used, and what is the desulfurization efficiency? Are there any secondary pollutants? We have installed a flue gas desulfurization system here, using the magnesium oxide method; the desulfurization efficiency reaches 95%, and the by-product is gypsum (which contains ash), which can be buried directly. The results seem quite good!
Our company is implementing a catalytic flue gas desulfurization project, with completion planned by the end of the year. The wet process from American BELCO is used, with sodium hydroxide or magnesium oxide available. There is no secondary pollution, and the water can meet the standards for direct discharge.
BELCO’s technology is good, but it’s expensive. What should be done with the catalyst dust that comes out as well?
The dust from the catalyst should be washed away by the absorbent liquid, carried away with the wastewater into the sewage treatment system, and then removed through sedimentation and filtration! This is how we remove dust and smoke from our company!
The wastewater from the washing tower is sent to a clarification tank; the water overflows and is discharged directly, while the sludge at the bottom of the tank is handled by a specialized environmental protection company.
