Over 60 years ago, in those times of war, Mr. Wu Yunchu, a pioneer in China’s chemical industry, took charge of establishing the Yibin branch of Tianyuan Electrochemical Factory. The seed of modern chemical industry was sown in the ancient city of Yibin. Yibin Tianyuan was born in times of national crisis, grew up during the \"Third Front Construction\" initiative, expanded as part of the \"Agricultural Support Projects\", and thrived amid reform and opening up, remaining closely linked to the fate of the motherland. After going through all the hardships, finally, the bright sunshine has arrived! Over these sixty years, our motherland has undergone tremendous changes, and Yibin Tianyuan – that young plant by the river – has grown into a mighty tree. Generation after generation of the Amakuni people have seen their black hair turn white, and experience has replaced innocence, but we bear no regrets. Over the past 60 years, Tenpo has evolved from a small-scale factory with a production capacity of 2 tons of caustic soda per day and 3 tons of 35% bleaching powder per day, into a large chemical enterprise capable of producing 520,000 tons of polyvinyl chloride, 420,000 tons of caustic soda, and 820,000 tons of cement, among other products. It possesses nearly 93 sets of advanced patent technologies and proprietary techniques, ranging from calcium carbide to polyvinyl chloride, and from hydrazine hydrate to environmentally friendly cement; there are 41 patented technologies in total, among which more than 10 core patents are at the world’s leading level. It was the first to establish China’s largest PVC production facility using the bulk method, China’s largest domestic ion-exchange membrane caustic soda production plant, China’s largest environmental-friendly cement production project that utilizes waste residues as raw materials, and China’s first calcium carbide production plant that features smokestack-free emissions and dust recovery systems. The internal combustion process for calcium carbide production along with environmental emission standards have become the criteria for entering the calcium carbide industry in China, thereby creating a model of circular economic development for China’s chlor-alkali industry. He is the **main developer of the industry standards for PVC based on the ontological approach** and a key participant in formulating the **access policies for the calcium carbide industry**. The company built a PVC plant in 1968, which was one of the earliest PVC plants established in China and also the first PVC plant to come online in the southwest region. In 1997, the company built and put into operation China’s first bulk polyvinyl chloride production facility. Following expansions over the past few years, the production capacity for polyvinyl chloride has now reached 520,000 tons, enabling the production of general-purpose resins of types 1 to 8 using the suspension method, as well as general-purpose resins of types 3, 5, 7, and 8 using the bulk method. Polyvinyl chloride resin is a well-known brand product in China as well as a famous brand product in Sichuan Province. While providing users with high-quality general-purpose polyvinyl chloride resin, the company continues to pursue practical solutions through innovation, and is committed to offering products with high added value, distinct features, and superior quality. It has successfully developed a range of new products such as \"resin specifically for transparent sheets,\" \"resin specifically for pipes,\" \"resin specifically for pipe fittings,\" and \"resin specifically for profiles.\" At the beginning of 2008, the company set goals for the strategic upgrading and transformation of its PVC products, and is accelerating the development of new varieties such as \"high-performance PVC resins\" and \"high-impact resistance resins\". The company’s main production facilities are at an advanced level both internationally and domestically. By introducing the ion-exchange membrane method for caustic soda production technology and equipment from the British company ICI and the American company ELTECH, domestic research and development were carried out to build China’s largest domestically produced ion-exchange membrane facility ； It possesses the largest PVC production facility in western China as well as the largest PVC production plant using the bulk process in the whole country. It was the first to develop and build the largest domestic cement production facility that makes use of waste materials, and it is a major manufacturer of hydrazine hydrate and the blowing agent ADC in China.
