Theoretically, the moisture content of coal fed into the furnace should be between 9% and 11%. For every 1% change in moisture content, the temperature changes by 6-8 degrees. I wonder how temperature is controlled when there are changes in moisture content in your area – is it by adjusting the flow rate and pressure of the gas, or by changing the standard temperature? Is there any standard for this?
Just control the pressure; it all depends on one’s own ability to maintain control at the critical points.
There is then no standard; each technician has their own experience with different types of furnaces, and whether it comes to adjusting the flow rate or increasing the pressure, they rely on their own judgment.
