1. I am from Hubei Province. This year I took the basic exam for the Certified Chemical Engineer qualification, and I think I did pretty well. I plan to take the advanced exam next year. I have a question I’d like to ask everyone here: since I don’t work in a design firm, but rather as a technician at a listed company, I graduated in biotechnology in 2004. From July 2004 to April 2005, I was involved in research and development, mainly working on organic synthesis. Since April 2005, I have been responsible for process engineering research, design, and installation within the company. I have been part of projects worth 300 million, 700 million, 500 million for environmental protection purposes, and 600 million in terms of engineering value (I was the project leader for the latter project, while I was a participant in the others). Through these years of work, I have gained considerable experience in pharmaceutical and chemical engineering design, and I have grown to really enjoy this type of work. Considering that companies will likely not have so many engineering projects in the future, I want to work at a professional design firm. I was wondering if any design firms might be willing to hire me. My major isn’t exactly relevant to this field, I only have a bachelor’s degree, and I don’t have any connections either ? ? 2. Question 2: I heard that to take this exam for a specialized field one must be from a design institute; does that mean I can’t take it? I’m really frustrated about this issue. I plan to start working at a design firm before taking the professional exams next year, but I don’t have the required certification; it’s not certain that they will hire me (I do have a certificate as an intermediate engineer). What should I do? ? ? ? Which are the top design institutes in Wuhan? ? ? ? ? ? ? Please help me out!
You certainly have the qualifications to work in a design firm, or you could take the exam to become a certified professional in this field. But think it through carefully – these days it’s common for people to switch from design firms or engineering companies to work as project owners, while you’re choosing to do the opposite
1. It’s hard to say whether it’s possible to work at a design institute; if I were in charge of HR, I wouldn’t hire you because you lack design experience and your major isn’t relevant. 2. Under the requirements for a regular card, you cannot take the Certified Chemical Engineer exam.
If you have an ideal, strive to pursue it. There will be a good outcome. There are still quite a number of small design institutes.
