The control temperatures for medium and low temperatures are different. Low temperatures are used primarily to obtain coal tar that contains fewer polycyclic compounds compared to coal tar produced at higher temperatures; however, the carbon in this case appears as powder and cannot be converted into coke, so it is essentially wasted. Medium temperatures are generally used in combination with low temperatures to produce semi-coke, while the resulting coal tar has a low degree of utilization. Our laboratory is currently working on developing ways to utilize it; however, due to confidentiality issues with the technical teams involved, we are unable to disclose any details on this matter.

Several domestic engineering companies are involved in the development of high-temperature coal tar hydrogenation units, such as Shengbang and Changling.
