We generally use the standard JB4718-4719 for our heat exchanger gaskets, but when I ask manufacturers to produce gaskets according to this standard, it causes problems during installation. Excluding the issue of installation quality by the construction team, I still feel that the gaskets for heat exchangers are too large according to the standards. Especially when these heat exchangers are used in high-temperature environments, the gaskets expand due to the high temperatures, resulting in thermal stress. If the gap between the gasket and the sealing surface is very small, it’s easy for the gasket to be compressed out. Therefore, I suggest that the outer diameter of the gaskets should be one size smaller than the standard dimension. What are everyone’s opinions?
