Before pickling: 20% nitric acid + 5% hydrofluoric acid + 75% water. After pickling: 15% nitric acid + 3% hydrofluoric acid. Can the waste acid after pickling be discharged directly after neutralization? Are there any manufacturers in need for recycling? Nitric acid is relatively easy to handle, but hydrofluoric acid is said to be difficult to work with. Do any of you have any good methods, or could you recommend some companies that are specialized in this area?
It’s extremely difficult; when these two types of acids are mixed together, there are severe limitations regarding the materials that can be used. Nitric acid has a strong oxidizing property, while hydrofluoric acid corrodes silicon. Even after neutralization, fluorides remain hazardous waste and cannot be discharged

Nitric acid can be neutralized, but hydrogen fluoride is another matter. That thing is toxic, and fluoride ions are not allowed to be excreted either. It’s hard to do
F ions cannot be discharged; they need to be precipitated and filtered, and the discharge concentration of F ions is very low, generally below 10 mg/L
