Placement of product storage tanks

Hello, my friends! (1) Why are some product storage tanks placed horizontally while others are placed vertically? (Most of the tanks in our company are placed vertically, but the pure methamine storage tanks here are arranged horizontally.) (2) As for the light components at the top of the distillation tower, they are returned to the reflux tank through the condenser; why do some of them go back to the top of the tank, some to the middle of the tank, and some to the outlet pipeline of the tank?
Horizontal storage tanks have good stability but require more space, while vertical storage tanks have a higher pressure resistance capacity and take up less space. Unless there are special requirements, either of these two types of storage tanks is suitable. Additionally, large and medium-sized storage tanks are generally horizontal, while vertical tanks are sufficient for small storage tanks. Where did you see it returning to the middle of the tank and the outlet pipeline? It generally flows back to the top of the return pipe; in some cases, there is a direct return branch, depending on the specific situation.
