α-cellulose is used in carbon tube filters in two forms: primary coating and pre-coating. It mainly binds to SS.
The combination of pre-coating and SS reduces the levels of CaCO3 and MgOH.
It is also due to surface adsorption, which adsorbs calcium and magnesium particles in order to overcome the insufficient filtering precision of carbon tubes. This method has been phased out.
Pre-coated on the surface of the carbon tube; as saline passes through, SS is retained on the surface of the carbon tube, and the SS content in the resulting saline is below 1 MG/L
It is a filter aid that helps to form the filter cake; however, this method is not widely used in ion-exchange membrane processes at present. The key issues are its impact on the membranes and the resin used.
a- The uses of cellulose are: 1) pre-coating the surface of carbon tubes, 2) adding it to the saline solution to be filtered. It works roughly as follows: 1. It prevents the micropores of the carbon tube from being blocked by suspended particles. 2. It can improve filtration precision. 3. Changing the structure of the filter residue results in a slow increase in filtration resistance, thereby prolonging the filtration cycle.
