I’m seeking advice from experts: I majored in chemical engineering, and in my undergraduate studies I took courses such as \"Industrial Process Instruments and Automation,\" \"Electrical Engineering and Electronics,\" and \"Microcontrollers.\" In my current job, I often encounter problems related to distributed control systems; I need to make selections based on the number of control points and the control methods involved, as well as carry out some basic design work. So far, we have used DCS systems from Advantech in Taiwan, namely the FB2000 and FB3000 models, as well as Siemens PLC modules. Which courses do I need to take in order to be able to select the appropriate hardware and have a basic understanding of data communication issues? A beginner seeks advice from experts! Programmable controllers/electrical control and programming techniques/automatic control/data communication and computer networks……In fact, focusing on specific areas of study can be very helpful for selecting the right hardware and understanding data communication!
Let’s start with books on DCS. I think it’s necessary to first have some understanding of DCS systems; once you have an overall grasp of them, you’ll know what kind of knowledge is required for that area and what knowledge is missing in your own understanding.
