Storage issues for acid and alkali tanks

Storing acids and bases in tanks may seem simple, but in reality there are many considerations to take into account. For example, hydrochloric acid definitely cannot be stored in steel tanks, while sulfuric acid can be stored in carbon steel tanks, but heating is required. Does anyone have experience in this area? Could you tell us what aspects need attention when storing such tanks? For instance, is heating necessary when storing alkaline solutions? Why or why not? Under what circumstances is it needed and under what circumstances not? The issues can be discussed in terms of the storage material, whether heating is required, exhaust gas treatment requirements, and the selection of transfer pumps.
