I work at a design firm, where everyone relies on experience; there’s hardly any theory involved. As a result, many problems cannot be solved, and those that can’t be resolved are passed on to the field staff. Is this behavior reasonable?
Appearance may match, but emotions are not in line with reality; this is just personal opinion for reference only
It’s definitely not possible for those in design firms to work from their offices; everything related to equipment is constantly changing these days. Design firms use theories from the 1970s and equipment selection methods from that era, which means that most companies have to go on-site and revise the lists of equipment provided by those firms. It’s unclear whether they are even willing to go to the site
A proper design firm should have people sent to the site; if everyone stays in the office, isn’t that working in isolation?
