Let me ask a question first: after the gate valve has been assembled and pressure-tested, should there be another continuous, narrow sealing line on both the valve seat and the gate? As I understand it, such a line is definitely present on the gate, but why is it also present on the valve seat? During the design phase, the width of the valve seat’s sealing surface is determined; in an ideal situation, it should fit perfectly with the gate’s sealing surface. In other words, the width of the sealing line on the gate’s sealing surface should be roughly the same as that of the valve seat’s sealing surface. But according to the manufacturer, there should be a sealing line in each case, preferably at the center of the valve seat sealing surface. Hehe, if it’s done according to his understanding, then by making the width of the sealing surface very narrow, everyone would find it easier and it would also save money.
