What is the use of Enthalpy kw in Aspen simulation calculation results? The same substance has different numbers at different temperatures, and even the positive and negative signs are reversed. What does it mean? Please give advice
What does standard enthalpy mean? You can look at the definition of standard enthalpy in physical chemistry.
Chemical industry is mainly concerned with the transfer of three quantities. Mass transfer, so it will give you components and flow rate, heat transfer, so it will give you enthalpy, and momentum transfer will give you power. You will see the corresponding three streams in the lower left corner of the flowsheet, namely material, heat, and work. These three may be more concerned about in the chemical industry, and others may not be of much concern, such as electromagnetic flow.
Thank you for your help, but I still don’t understand. The enthalpy value is a relative value, and it changes according to the change of temperature. In a simulation, the enthalpy value was positive at 1900 degrees, and became negative at 900 degrees. I don’t know what the benchmark is?
