How is a flange subjected to a hydrostatic test? Is it a single flange that is pressure-tested, or are multiple flanges connected together along the pipeline? How is the test pressure determined?
You want to know how much pressure a flange can withstand, right? The appropriate flange already has its pressure rating indicated, so you just need to choose that one. If you are designing it yourself, there is also software SW6 available for performing the calculations； Secondly, the flange pressing must take place in a sealed container.
There was no separate hydrostatic test for the flange, right? Generally, it is pressure-tested together with the piping, but the flanges are designed to withstand higher pressures than the pipes
