It was started and stopped several times; it’s not clear what parameters need to be analyzed after the pipeline replacement before starting the operation – whether it’s combustible gases or oxygen content. Please share your opinions based on the conditions of this facility. Our device is used for hydrogen production, as well as for analyzing hydrogen sulfide. 1. What is analyzed after pipeline replacement? 2. What is analyzed after furnace replacement? 3. What is analyzed in regular hot work projects? 4. What kind of device are you, and what other parameters will be analyzed for your situation?

I now understand that when working with an open flame, it’s necessary to prevent flammable gases from catching fire; of course, toxic gases also need to be analyzed. But why is it that, after purging the pipeline with nitrogen, only oxygen analysis is required? After nitrogen displacement, what remains is mainly nitrogen, with a small amount of air. In air, nitrogen and oxygen are the most abundant components: nitrogen (N2) accounts for 78.08%, oxygen (O2) accounts for 20.95%, argon (Ar) accounts for 0.93%, and carbon dioxide (CO2) accounts for 0.03%. Therefore, oxygen becomes crucial. But won’t the original process gas remain in the pipeline after it is in operation? I’m not quite clear about this. Furthermore, our procedures state that after the furnace is replaced, the combustible gas level in the furnace and the convection section should be less than 0.2%, but air contains 21% oxygen – how can this be explained?

This means starting work and stopping work. During shutdown, combustible gases are typically replaced and analyzed; upon restart, the oxygen content is generally replaced. Furnace replacement involves replacing combustible gases.
