How is the drainage for the eye wash showers in everyone’s installations set up? Thank you!
Each company has its own procedures. At my previous company, the discharge check was done twice a week for each eye washer, while at my current company it is done once a week. Of course, there are also companies where the water in the eye washer pipelines is kept flowing continuously; in such cases, the discharge interval can be extended appropriately. One thing to keep in mind is that when using these devices in environments with high temperatures (such as in summer or in workshops with high temperatures), it is necessary to perform a discharge check first to ensure that the water temperature is suitable before use, thereby preventing more serious damage.
The water from the eye washers in our facility is drained together with the water from the other sinks.
The eye washers I have installed are the same as those mentioned on the 3rd floor.
The drainage from eye wash stations must be connected to the wastewater system; it cannot be discharged arbitrarily. If caught by the environmental protection authorities, fines will be imposed.
It is discharged into the process ditch and then pumped to the wastewater treatment plant.

Our company first sends the wastewater to the underground sewage network, and then it is sent to the company’s wastewater treatment facility for further processing before being discharged.
The engineers at your design institute didn’t design it properly; however, many design institutes in China design the eyewash unit drains in the way you mentioned. The relevant regulations are specified in the U.S. eyewash standard ANSI/ISEA Z358.1 2009.
