Let’s discuss what is the maximum capacity in tons for current methanol transport trucks
Methanol as a medium is not particularly special; generally, there are no dedicated tank trucks for methanol. Vehicles used for transporting gasoline and diesel can be used to transport methanol after being cleaned, so tank trucks are not very useful for transporting methanol. The capacity of such tanks is usually around 20-30 tons.
This type of tank truck is the most common; I’ve seen ones with a capacity of 30 to 40.
2# Transfer arm: Methanol is much more soluble than gasoline and diesel. The anti-corrosion coatings on the inner walls of tanks used for storing and transporting ordinary gasoline and diesel simply cannot withstand the swelling effect of methanol. Therefore, when using tanks designed for ordinary gasoline and diesel, it’s acceptable if those walls lack anti-corrosion coatings; but if such coatings are present, it’s definitely not feasible to use those tanks.

Now, there are many 60-ton methanol tankers. Methanol, when in contact with water, can cause corrosion on carbon steel.

Currently, the tanks used for storing methanol in our company are all made of carbon steel; it seems that stainless steel isn’t used either! Carbon steel is also used in the storage process; it is better if there is no internal anti-corrosion coating on the tanks, as this coating can peel off over time. It is necessary to consult the test data provided by the manufacturers of internal anti-corrosion coatings for more details!
