A tank area for flammable liquids of Class A is being constructed, and a fire foam extinguishing system will be used. It was found that there might be an issue with the distance between the fire hydrants and the storage tanks. I checked Regulation 8.2.8: The layout of outdoor fire hydrants shall comply with the following requirements: 2. Fire hydrants in areas storing liquids of Classes A, B, and C, as well as in areas storing liquefied petroleum gas, shall be located outside fire dikes or protective walls. Fire hydrants within 15 meters of the tank wall should not be counted toward the number available for use with that tank ； I wonder if there are any other regulatory requirements? Additionally, what types of tank areas require a fire foam system?
Refer to Article 8.7 on low-expansion foam fire extinguishing systems in the Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises. 8.7.2 Fixed foam fire extinguishing systems shall be installed in the following locations: 1. Fixed-roof tanks and floating-roof tanks with fusible material floats for Class A and B flammable liquids, as well as Class C flammable liquids with a flash point of 90°C or less: 1) Storage tanks for water-insoluble flammable liquids with a single-tank volume of 10,000 m3 or more ； 2) Water-soluble flammable liquid storage tanks with a single tank volume of 500 m3 or more ； 2. Floating roof tanks for Class A and B flammable liquids, as well as Class C flammable liquids with a flash point of 90°C or less, and internal floating roof tanks whose floating decks are made of non-melting materials: storage tanks for water-insoluble flammable liquids with a single-tank capacity of 50,000 m3 or more ； 3. Flammable liquid storage tanks that cannot be effectively protected by mobile fire-fighting equipment. Article 8.7.3 Mobile foam fire extinguishing systems may be used in the following locations: 1. Storage tanks for water-insoluble flammable liquids with a tank wall height of less than 7 m or a volume of 200 m3 or less ； 2. Lubricant tank ； 3. Fires caused by the flow of flammable liquids on the ground, oil pool fires.
