I am installing reactors and coking towers, preparing to use cladding insulation. I would like to ask everyone: What are the advantages of cladding insulation? Is it a new type of insulation method?
A layperson’s question: Is one of the reasons the low cost?
Removable insulation should refer to mobile insulation: it can be installed or removed according to the process temperature requirements. During equipment maintenance, removing the insulation allows for more straightforward inspection of the reactor casing on a regular basis.

It is mainly used in Cr-Mo steel containers. This design completely eliminates the need for welding between the structural components and the container; for materials that are sensitive to cracks, it helps reduce additional cracks caused by welding, thereby ensuring the quality of the equipment’s fabrication.

A brief explanation – I’m not sure if it’s accurate: In the case of clamped insulation, a cage-like framework is made using steel sections at the neck portion of the cover of vertical equipment; insulation support rings are welded to this framework, and the insulation layer then adheres to both the cage-like framework and the insulation support rings.
