Assuming the same project and the same set of equipment, what might be the difference in costs between using PDSOFT (a domestic software) and PDS or PDMS (foreign software) for the design? Is there anyone who knows this and can answer? Thank you
It doesn’t matter what software the design firm uses for design work, right? The design fee is proportional to the investment amount for the project
Generally, PDS and PDMS are used only when the property owners request it. Projects that don’t have any specific requirements basically don’t use PDS.
Since there are significant differences among these software programs, the design costs will certainly vary, but it’s not clear by how much.
Design fees have no direct relation to design software.
PDS must be the most expensive; just think, the annual licensing fee for that software is around 10 million, and it also takes a long time to learn how to use it – it’s more complex compared to those two other software options. For ordinary projects in the domestic market, PDS is not required; it is only used in large-scale petrochemical projects. This is why over the years many service companies have emerged that work in partnership with large design firms – these companies train new employees in using such software and then provide labor to those design firms.
Which domestic software has the larger market share at present? The domestic software I’m aware of right now are UESoft PDMax, PDSoft, and Autoplant. Which one is used the most?
It has little to do with software; it is mainly determined by engineering investment.
Design fees have no direct relation to design software; it mainly depends on the investment.
This post was last edited by szmung on 2010-1-29 at 16:16. The cost for a new project seems to be 7% of the investment amount, while the cost for renovation appears to be 4%. I’ve heard that, but of course, the specific details are usually determined when the marketing department negotiates the contract with the client. There must be some personal connections involved. The costs on the side of the design institute are already very low. If the relationship improves, it will be easier for us to cooperate in the future. Of course, this is determined by China’s national conditions; such a situation is likely to be less common abroad.
No way, our leader said that the design cost should account for 10~20% of the total investment amount~~~
