The ethylene production plant with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons, built through catalytic thermal cracking (CPP) and involving a total investment of 2.9 billion yuan, has been completed and put into operation at China BlueStar Shenyang Chemical Group. The commissioning of this 500,000 tons per year ethylene production facility using catalytic thermal cracking (CPP) technology not only marked the first breakthrough in ethylene production facilities in Shenyang City, but it also promoted technological advancement in China’s ethylene industry. It furthermore opened up a new pathway for ethylene production in China, one that features abundant raw materials and low costs.
I was involved in the design of one of the key equipment, the PP fluidized bed reactor.
