To seal pipes, pipe caps or flanged blind plates are often used. What are the differences in their applications, and how should one choose between them?
The blind flange can be removed and is installed in the middle of the pipe, while the pipe cap is welded on and located at the end of the pipe.
A flanged blind plate is similar to a flange cover and is used in situations where frequent disassembly for cleaning or maintenance is required. It can withstand high pressures. Pipe caps come in threaded and welded types; the threaded type is suitable for situations requiring frequent disassembly, while the welded type is suitable for those where disassembly occurs less often. The pressure resistance of both types is lower than that of a flanged blind plate.
