The atmospheric leg at the top of the atmospheric and vacuum distillation tower is subject to corrosion caused by H2S and HCl; therefore, a \"one removal and four injections\" anti-corrosion method is used in the process. It is mainly composite sheets; for the tube side, 08Cr2AlMo as well as 09Cr2AlMoRe are used. These are all high-rare-earth alloy steels resistant to corrosion by wet H2S and chloride ions. Relevant information can be found online.
316L stainless steel can be used, but it’s expensive; choosing a suitable neutralizing corrosion inhibitor together with thick-walled 20# carbon steel pipes should work fine
