The safety valve on our container is equipped with a bypass, and I’ve never been able to figure out what purpose that bypass serves Is it just for online verification?
When the safety valve is not functioning properly and pressure release is needed, use the bypass; Sometimes purging requires a bypass

It’s a bit special: when the system pressure becomes excessively high due to blockages or other issues, in order to prevent the safety valve from activating and ensure that the system continues to operate, it is possible to vent air from the safety valve’s bypass line, thereby maintaining the pressure required by the system and allowing it to keep functioning.
Primarily for safety reasons, in the event of a failure in the main circuit of the safety valve or during maintenance, it is switched to bypass mode to ensure safe and unobstructed operation
Its function is to open the bypass when there is a problem with the safety valve or when a faster pressure release is required.
It is used for maintenance and in case the safety valve fails
Generally, when the main pipeline is blocked or under excessive pressure, the bypass valve can be slightly opened to release pressure and maintain operation!
The bypass of the safety valve is primarily used for depressurizing the equipment; when leaks or faults occur during operation, it is possible to reduce the pressure on the equipment without shutting it down, by using the safety valve bypass!
For example, high-flash safety valves are equipped with bypasses; this is because after the high-flash unit there are additional devices such as graywater heaters, high-flash condensers, and desalinated water heaters. With so many devices present, there are also more potential leakage points. In the event of a failure in these subsequent devices and pressure release is necessary, safety valves alone are not sufficient to achieve this purpose. Only by having a bypass in place can pressure be released without shutting down the system.
Then what is the reason why no bypass is provided for that safety valve? Such as the safety valve of the scrubber tower?
