For glyphosate production plants that use the alkyl ester process, what is the typical steam consumption per ton of product? Additionally, how much mother liquor is generally produced per ton of product?

Don’t get started on this unless you have technologies such as mother liquor recovery; with such a large production capacity, raw materials are definitely required, as well as the necessary supporting facilities for the downstream products. I think China’s glyphosate industry is similar to its polysilicon industry – capacity is growing too fast.
Steam consumption is basically between 8.5 and 9.5 tons per ton; The mother liquor after recovering triethylamine is generally 3.8–4.2 tons per ton.
The total steam consumption for a 100,000-ton glyphosate plant is approximately 1 million tons, resulting in a total amount of mother liquor of 300,000 tons. The issue of mother liquor treatment is a major problem now.
