Cost of cutting the impeller for the pump

This post was last edited by yxmqh on 2009-11-3 19:25. How much does it generally cost to have a cutting done on the impeller of a centrifugal pump? Does anyone know anything about this?
It has to do with the diameter of the wheels; why does your impeller need to be machined? Is the pump too large?
Generally, a cut of around 300 requires about 2000 yuan.
Based on the size of the impeller, it’s common in our factory to handle this in this way: for energy savings, smaller impellers are cut in our own workshop, as it’s easier to do so using our lathes. Larger impellers, on the other hand, are sent to external facilities for cutting. External companies usually handle larger impellers, and the cost is around 500-1000
Do we need that much? There’s no technical complexity either; it’s really asking for too much. Based on hours worked, it’s less than a hundred I guess. Perhaps the main consideration is that you don’t have a mandrel

We chose a pump with a large capacity and high head, which results in a smaller motor; as a result, overcurrent occurs frequently and the pump tends to stop operating on its own. It’s not a regular pump but an alkali solution pump, with a power rating of 18.5 KW. It was originally designed to pump water, but now it often pumps alkaline solution; due to its higher density, the motor appears smaller, and it often shuts down automatically due to overcurrent
By controlling the flow rate of the inlet valve, it is also possible to reduce the power consumption

The size of the cutting amount? If you don’t specify the cutting dimensions and instead let the cutting unit calculate the flow rate, head, and power, the cost will be higher.
It won’t cost much, probably less than a hundred or two hundred. Was it originally a clean water pump? If the impeller is made of cast iron, a newly purchased turned impeller costs only a few hundred yuan.
Is it simply because of the medium being transported that the motor cannot meet the requirements? What is then the effective power of the pump? Choose a 18.5kw motor
