Do many marine industry professionals know what type of pipe is mainly used for instrument air pipelines: seamless pipes or galvanized pipes? Why?
Pneumatic piping: Typically, the air supply pipes for the process external pipelines are DN100, that is, 4\" pipes; in some cases, they are DN50, that is, 2\" pipes. They are generally seamless pipes. The pneumatic pipes laid by the instrumentation team for this installation have a diameter of DN25, that is, galvanized welded steel pipes of 1\" in size; generally, the main pipes are DN25. The branch pipes are galvanized welded steel pipes with diameters of DN20, or 3/4\", and DN15, or 1/2\". Adjacent to the first pneumatic instrument and pneumatic control valve are copper tubes, as well as shaft-coated tubes (copper tubes with a plastic protective layer on the outside). Copper tubes with a diameter of 6*1 are commonly used; occasionally, 7*1 or 8*1 diameter copper tubes as well as 6*1 diameter Nylon 1010 tubes are employed.

These days we usually make an air source distributor; the pipes are connected to this distributor, and from there I connect them to the valves. Nylon pipes are flexible, which makes installation easier.

Since the process gas contains a certain amount of water, galvanized pipes are generally used. Using stainless steel pipes is better, though the cost is higher.
Either is fine; galvanized ones are used more often!
Here, we use galvanized pipes for the main pipelines and branch lines; only stainless steel pipes are used at the controller where the gas is delivered.
We all use stainless steel pipes; it’s a practice that has been in use for a long time. We never thought of using galvanized steel pipes. It seems we could suggest to the management that stainless steel pipes be used
Use stainless steel! It looks better and doesn’t rust!
